Kichigai Matsuri
Have you ever heard “Kichigai Matsuri”? I’ve also never heard this festival. What is Kichigai Matsuri? How crazy is it? I was very interested in it, so I searched about it.
Kichigai Matsuri is held in Ohtsu city in Shiga prefecture on October 19th. This festival is held to the memory of Yoshisada Niita’s wife. Who is him? He was a commander in Kamakura era. In this city, his wife lived to wait for Yoshisada who had lost a war. One day, she got news of his death. Because of sadness, she went mad and dead at Biwa Lake.
To in memory of her, people imitate to be crazy in this festival. Main event is “Owatari”. Some men bring and walk with fish and beans on tray with legs. They imitate to be crazy and shout as flinging them. At the night, the main event is “Taimatsu Gyouretsu” (torch parade). People shout “Fire happened! Fire happened!” and walk.
At there, this festival is called “Nogamisai”. I didn’t know this festival, so I am interested in this festival. I want to join this festival someday.
What happens in Vegas
In this summer vacation, I went to Canada. In the airplane from Canada, I watched a movie, “What Happens in Vegas”. This movie is a love comedy and starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. First, I’ll introduce this movie’s plot.
Joy works hard in Wall Street. On her boyfriend’s birthday, she holds his surprise birthday party. She invites many friends and proposes to him. But!! She is refused by him! She drinks with her friend and decide to go to Las Vegas. On the other hands, Jack is dismissed from his father’s company and also drinks with his friend. And they also go to Las Vegas. In Vegas, they accidentally meet and drink all night. Next morning, when joy wakes up, she finds a wedding ring on her third finger! They get married!! After they decide to cancel the marriage, Jack wins 3 million dollars with her coin. They want to cancel the marriage but get to the money. After they go to trial, they are ordered to live together for 6 months. During this time, they come up against and pay back each other. But they notice that they have in common about love gradually. Finally, how will their relationship change…?!
If you want to know ending of this story, you had better watch this movie as soon as possible! I recommend you this movie, because details of it are very funny. For example, the scene that they try to go to meet psychiatrist before each other is very funny. I like this scene the best. Because when they try to disturb their way, Joy dash apples to Jack and he use a skateboard instead of a taxi. Like this, tempo of the story is very rhythmic. And I couldn’t expect the development.
When you want to feel love and get happy, I recommend you to watch this movie!
In this summer vacation, I went to Canada as school studying program for a month. For the first three weeks, I stayed at my host family’s house and went to University of Toronto. At beginning, I felt homesick, because Canadian culture, food and people are different from those of Japanese. For example, in Canada, we should pay some tips to shop clerks, bell boys and so on. It was difficult for me. In restaurants, a rolled hand towel is not given! I was surprised at this. On the other hands, Canadian people are kind and have very warm hearts. When I realized people who I didn’t know, they always gave smiles to me! I was very happy! And in Canada’s weather is dry, so It was very comfortable. But my skin is dry, so I had a skin trouble. The temperature was about 25℃, so it was good for Japanese.
At school, I studied with 16 classmates. A girl is from Taiwan and the other students are Japanese. During the class, we should have spoken in English, so I think now I can speak more actively. In class, I made a presentation about an article. I chose an article about a boy bullfighter. I told them the summary and gave them 10 vocabulary quizzes and 10 discussion problems. It was very hard for me, but was good study for me. And I could make a lot of friends at school. It became one of my assets.
In Toronto, I went to many places. For example, I went to a shopping mall, some markets, beach, Wonder Land (it is a big amusement park), lake, CN tower, baseball game (the game was New York Yankees vs. Blue Jays), a museum, and Niagara Falls. Especially, I like Niagara Falls.
They are very big falls, so I was impressed! I could go very close to the falls and felt greatness of the nation. I want to recommend you to go there!
For last five days, I went to Banff and Vancouver. In Banff, I went to the Rocky Mountains, the Lake Louis, the Bow Lake, and glacier. Their lakes were very beautiful! The color was light blue like paint. I was impressed with it. Canadian nation are wonderful! I want you to show you. Around Glacier, it was very cold, so I wore gloves (this is my grandmother’s advice!). But it was very clear, and the water was very cold and good!
In Vancouver, I went to the Victoria Island. Especially, I like the Buttered Garden. There were a lot of flowers at there.
In Canada, I felt a lot of nations and was impressed those things. I want to go Canada again.
Summer!! I want to go beach! But I have a problem. It's diet! I must be on a diet! For women, it may be a big problem. Diet..... But it 's very difficult! I can't set a limit to the amount of sweets and snacks, especially for women, because we love sweets! If you suffer from diet, I recommend to go to this site. You can get a lot of information and advice about sweets.
I'm interested in yoga. But I don't understand well. What is "Yoga"? Then, I found this site. If you don't know well, let's go to this site! You will understand that what yoga is and what origin of yoga is. Before you and I start yoga, it may be good for us to understand yoga.
